Fees can be paid the day of the competition. Cash only. Cash Prizes for the Top 3 in each category.

Check-in starts at 7:00 am. Judging at noon. Awards at 1:00 pm. Located behind Exhibit Hall A on the west end of the grounds. Vehicles may unload in Cook Off area and then park in regular guest parking.

Contest open to all Backwoods BBQ-ers. Amateurs welcome. No professional teams please! 1 Main
Chef per team with unlimited assistants. Limited to the first 15 teams. Each team is responsible for maintenance and cleanup of its cooking area. The head cook will be responsible for the conduct and behavior of team members and guests.

Contestants must provide meat, cooking grills/smokers, utensils & tables. Judging containers provided.Each team should be equipped with a readily available and visible working fire extinguisher. Minimum suggested is 5lb. ABC. Fires are not to be built on the ground. Holes or pits will not be allowed.

All meat to be inspected prior to cook-off. No pre-seasoning or pre-cooking of the meat is allowed until it has been inspected and approved for cook-off use. Any meat found not in compliance with this rule will be disqualified. Once the meat has been inspected and approved it must not leave the contest area.

All entries will be scored on a scale of 1 through 10 in each of the judging criteria, with 10 being the best. Winners will be announced in the Leinie’s Pavilion at 1pm.
